The forest next to the house, the nearby spring and the birdwatching trail leading to the lookout tower offer great opportunities for hiking.
Lookout tower
The 48 m tall tower is built of metal and glass, with 2 lookout decks. The lower deck is 28 m high, and the upper one is 43 m high, making it one of the highest lookout tower in the country. The upper level can be reached by climbing 230 steps. LED lights and reflectors provide ambient lighting during the night. Climbing the tower requires a lot of courage and muscle strength, but the beautiful view of the lake is definitely worth it.
Birdwatching trail
Winding through the shady forest, the 1400 m long birdwatching trail offers a comfortable walking path in a tranquil setting. Little information boards along the path introducethe birds typical of the area, their special habits. Discover the different types of burrows walking among the tall trees. What birds can you meet in the forests of Zala county? Meet our finches, bark-dwelling woodpeckers, crows, thrushes, pigeons, swallows, and even herons and storks.
Boating lake
The lake, surrounded by hills, offers its visitors countless opportunities for excursions and sports: boating, fishing, pedal boating. You can cycle, run or walk on the path built around the lake, so you can ejoy the view from every angle. In addition to cycling and running, the lakeside fitness par offers outdoor training opportunities too. Families with small children will surely enjoy the playground next to the fitness park, and the buffet located right on the lakeside is open all year around.

Canopy Walkway in Kaszó
In the surroundings of Kaszó, there are also 4 nature trails (Old Forest Nature Trail, Wood Species and Wildlife Knowledge Nature Trail, Around The Forest Nature Trail and Canopy Walkway), each of which is intended to present the flora and fauna of the area, as well as the work of foresters and hunters. The Lombkorona Camopy Walkway gives you an unique insight into the forest by walking among the foliage. 9 m high above the ground, the interactive elements along the 124 m long path make discovering the living world more exciting.
Gorge in Nagybakónak
The ’Kőszikla’ gorge in Nagybakónak, located near Nagykanizsa and Zalakaros, is the most unique and spectacular natural attraction of Zala County. The clay sandstone gorge of the Zalai hills, hollowed out by erosion, promises a short but adventurous, unadulterated ladder gorge experience.
